Here's an example of this glitch. When you send DeGoulash flying, you can position the cursor where the engagement band would be if you scrolled the screen to the left. Then, press "U" (to pick up) for one frame after the cutscene. Guybrush will still walk to the place where the band is and pick it up, even if the mouse cursor was never there.
