“If I could walk over 5000 kilometers, there wasn't much I could ever really convince myself I couldn't do." -Bailey Seamer
Have you ever wondered if there are better ways to approach mental health disorders?
Have you ever felt like you were alone in your struggles with mental health disorders?
In this episode, we had the opportunity to chat with Bailey, who shared her incredibly ambitious goal of walking more than 5000 kilometers along the east coast of Australia. This journey is deeply personal for her, as she has lived with bipolar disorder and wants to share her story to raise awareness and educate others about mental health. Bailey believes that by encouraging an open and pragmatic attitude toward mental health, we can reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and provide support to those who need it. Her ultimate goal is to make a positive impact on the world by promoting mental health awareness and education.
Bailey Seamers is a mental health advocate who created the Wandering Minds Walk to raise awareness and funds for mental health research. The inspiration for walking the east coast of Australia comes from her personal battle with bipolar disorder. She has developed effective tools for managing her mental health and believes that hiking and spending time in nature can benefit others as well. Driven by her desire to help others, she aims to promote mental health education and encourage a positive attitude toward mental illness. What started as a simple idea has grown into a mission to inspire and raise funds for mental health awareness. For her, the walk is a symbol of life with bipolar disorder, with its ups and downs, challenges, and victories.
