Cormac’s death is felt pretty hard, particularly as we don’t really know if or when his corpse was lifted from Michelle living room carpet, and Ryan is so worried for his own safety that not even a trip to Ibiza can cheer him. Elsewhere, Johnny and Carla play Jim and Hannah at their own game in the blackmailing plot, Brian’s got an interview, Jude turns Weatherfield Psycho and has to return some videotapes, Sinead’s pregnancy is causing concern, and Tracy’s wedding to Steve is revealed to be next Monday, but will the free pass confusion spoil the plans? Chesney and Gemma have ice-cold reactions to the predicament and the backseat a pleading Henry finds himself in, the hoodie gang who stole lunches from Roy’s have graduated to colorful drive-bys, and Jude has the look of a man who has thought “it puts the spag bol on its skin” more than once as he ignores the obvious destination his marriage is heading to. Matters take a further sinister turn when, for the second time in a month, Helen exposes Gav to an image he will spend the rest of his life trying to unsee. Mary and Jude, along with Billy and Josh, have scenes that mean nothing to the grand scheme of things. Rita has thousands of pounds fall into her lap and lesbian daughters are celebrated. The fact that it's Gav's birthday and he and Helen were off to see Toad the Wet Sprocket in Detroit (an hour and a half away) on Friday night probably wasn't in and of itself enough to stop us recording a full podcast this week, only delay it. The fact that we were then going to travel on to Burlington, ON (just another three hours or so) on Saturday for square sausage and haggis poutine probably wasn't enough either. The fact that Gav sold his novel and needed to redraft his manuscript one last time by the weekend sadly was more than enough, although for a brief moment, the idea of taking our Blue Yeti mic and a laptop and recording the show in a Canadian hotel room sounded quite indie and cool. So just a very brief recap of Monday and Wednesday's episodes this week which, to be honest, stank to high heaven, and if the Drinking Game Word of the Week had been "ridiculous" I think our livers would have been in serious danger. A great week on the Cobbles sees Gemma lose The Rovers before she actually got a chance to win it and instead there’ll be a different landlady shouting at startled extras. A spooky DVD gives Alya pause with regards to her future at the factory, Steve buys yet another engagement ring and needs just one more to get a free set of steak knives, and Tim and Sally may live to regret not contacting the bank when that dodgy £1,000 just dropped into her account because Duncan’s back and he has a story to tell. And Gav still point blank refuses to learn Tim’s Dad’s name, which becomes annoying when Tim’s Dad shares more than one scene a week with Tim.

Eva enjoyed leaving so much last week that she came back on Friday just to leave all over again, but this time she didn't take Adam. Meanwhile, Gemma finally starts to look like landlady material as she threatens to bar a fighting Mary and Gina, a homeless Sean makes a friend but seems to forget he already has quite a few of them that could help, and we’re forced to look at Daniel’s chest for ten seconds longer than is acceptable.
