Matt talks about prepping for Christmas Burns Red and the busyness surrounding the season and Tim remembers he never gave Matt his birthday card. The guys quickly jump into their topic, "Making Music in 2025" and discuss the major advancements they've seen in music tech over the past year, and how to approach this new wave of capabilities. On episode one hundred and sixty one of Holy Ghost Notes, Matt and Tim casually discuss their love of cheese and Tim's "cultured" way about him. The guys shift gears and walk through their list of "Dos and Don'ts" as drummers - to both summarize and simplify many of the key points they've discussed in-depth over the past 160 episodes. Then, inspired by Tony Robbins, Tim does an exercise with Matt to tee up the topic of Perception vs. Reality, which takes a rather deep turn.

They proceed to talk about the importance of reinforcement when it comes to drumming (or just about anything in life). Then the guys switch gears and talk about selfishness vs. selflessness. Matt uses the example of equal time spent with family, and Tim adds his take on the freedom that accompanies selflessness and importance of having perspective.

Tim tangents about his espresso ritual, then Matt talks about how relaxing when sitting at the drum kit can actually improve performance and Tim relates it to stage fright and taking control. Then the guys talk about relaxing in life, not simply their "wind-down routines", but rather what can lead to true relaxation in life.

In light of the recent fragile landscape, the guys discuss how to have mature and civil conversations about difficult topics and the importance of respect and love above all. Taking shape as more of an after thought than topics, Matt and Tim share their weaknesses in drumming. Then they pivot into the topic of ‘weakness in life’ and how weakness can, in fact, be a positive thing.
