Jesus promised to give the Holy Spirit to those who believe on Him according to the Old Testament Scriptures. For instance, the prophet Isaiah predicted that Jesus the Messiah would be rejected by his own people the Jews and put to death for their sins (Isaiah 53:1-12). King David also prophesied the resurrection of Christ (Psalm 16:8-11). The apostles Paul and Peter both referred to the Old Testament Scriptures to support their preaching of the Gospel of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:25-32). This wonderful gift, the blessed Holy Spirit is given to all who trust in Jesus Christ and it is received by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:21, 38).
