#20 - Psalm for a Clean Heart (Psalm 51)
5 WAYS PEOPLE DEAL WITH SIN
1.
IGNORING IT
Some people just ignore their sin.
Example: Cain
➕ Ignored sin doesn’t go away.
2.
EXCUSING IT
Others explain it away.
Example: Saul
“To obey is better than sacrifice.”
3.
INDULGING IT
Some people schedule it.
➕ Sin on Saturday, church on Sunday.
Example: Samson
4.
IMPLODING OVER IT
Others let sin crush them.
Example: Judas
➕ Conviction draws us to God.
➕ Condemnation drives us from God.
5.
CONFESSING IT
This is the right way.
Example: David
“I acknowledge my transgressions…”
➕ Confession brings freedom.

➕ Forgiveness restores our relationship, renewal restores our joy.

Restoration always leads to testimony.
➕ A forgiven man becomes a useful man.
God cleans us not just for us, but for others.
