The Hoopsters NBL1 Central Basketball Show

The Lions have broken a near three year drought with a four point win over the Warriors last Sunday and Bevo and Downtown were joined by new Lions recruit Casey Samuels to hear all about it. We asked what the celebrations were like afterwards, the buzz when the final siren went and how Shelby Sutcliffe was cool as a cucumber when shooting the winning free throws.

Taylor is off to study and play basketball at the University at Albany in the USA and we had the great pleasure of getting her on the show to chat all about it and asked her what her reaction was like when she found out the amazing news that she was going to college. She also told us about the sacrifices she made throughout her basketball career and why it's all worth it and who were the first people she rang to share the good news.

Taylor was also a great sport as we get her to 'Dish the Dirt' on her team mates at the Mavs!

Downtown and Bevo spoke with one of the most improved players in the NBL1 Central competition, Riley Harrap.

Riley’s shooting percentage has doubled from last year and his average points per game has gone from 3 to 17.

We spoke about where the improvement has come from and who has been the influences on his career in the past couple of years, whether the generally laid back Coach Nyberg ever gets fired up and in Bevo’s favourite segment we gave Riley the chance to dish the dirt on his team mates in our Dishing the Dirt segment.

It was a fun chat on the Hoopsters show as Bevo and Downtown asked last year’s coach of the year where he first got the passion for wanting to be a coach, how they are dealing with the loss of last year’s Halls medallist Teige Morrell and what the team is doing to help out star player Morgan Yaeger when she is getting constant close attention from her opponents.
