Even more important than the things we do are the reasons why we do them.  What drives Kingdom People to live the kind of lives that Jesus talks about?

In Matthew 5:21-48, Jesus makes it clear that God’s heart has always been to transform our hearts.  “Kingdom living” is done from the inside-out, not the other way around.

Some people spend their entire lives trying to measure up to someone else’s definition of “greatness”.  In Jesus’ kingdom, though, “greatness” has less to do with completing a checklist and more to do with living life from a transformed heart.

What does it look like when the people that Jesus calls “blessed” come on the scene?  Jesus uses the ideas of “salt” and “light” to describe the transforming power that His people have on the world around them.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus cast the vision of an “upside-down” Kingdom.  He invites us to be a part of this Kingdom where the people who are celebrated are the same people that the rest of the world looks down on.
