After a Christmas Break hiatus, we're back. In this episode, David and Akeem talk about picking music for assessments, winter activities, and the busyness of the job. 

In this great episode, Akeem and David invited their middle school feeders - Julie Keeling and Gary Carpenter, to talk about all things middle school. We talk all things middle school band, from recruitment, to keeping them engaged during class. 

The Horsemen crew wrap-up their marching band season, and discuss how to transition into the next season of work in the band hall. 

In this episode, we talk with Dr. JR Carlisle, who is a veteran music educator, visual designer and judge in all the arenas of the marching arts. We discuss all the information on a typical judges sheet and rubric, and give definition to all the fancy judge jargon!

The Horsemen talk about the first competition of the season, which includes Waffle House, band season hangover, running a contest (in the rain) and when things don't get well (I think we've all been there). We also give a shoutout to the rookie band members, and rookie band directors!
