This week the Hunt Fish Journal talks to Jay McAninch President and CEO of the Archery Trade Association. This interview with Jay will give you a good understanding of who the ATA is and the important roll they have in supporting and expanding archery and the associated outdoor equipment. Areas like technical and financial support for expanding archery in such areas as schools, parks and small business as well as manufacturing, and the aspiring product inventor. The ATA is not only instrumental in the USA but also in many other countries around the world. Jay's keen understanding of archery and the promotion of this great sport is evident as he speaks to the HFJ about issues and challenges facing all the different areas of archery. The far reaching help and capabilities of the ATA is brought to light in this 30 minute interview with Jay McAninch.

In this third show of the Rut Roundup we talk to Paul Kurtz about a true trophy Paul took in Ohio and then we head north to talk to Russell Benz in Ontario Canada. Russell contacted the show and sent us a picture of a buck he took on a tinker stand. We were so impressed we ask Russell to come on the Rut Roundup to tell his story. Then we turn our sights southward to West Oklahoma to talk with Jacob Whiteley about his hunt this year. This is the first of three Rut Roundup shows for the 2015 deer season. In this show we are going to talk to four different people who use our methods for taking deer over scrapes or as a result of the scrapes and the deer scent used to activate licking branches, scrapes and the trail they walk in on. These tactics when properly used can be a powerful tool in bringing mature deer into your hunting site. Today we are releasing one of our old shows in a remix as it goes along with the last two shows on how to calculate the whitetail rut. Calculating the big bucks from HFJ 11 was the beginning show on how to hunt this method that Jerry developed over a 30 year period. The idea of how to calculate the rut was born out of these early years when Jerry happened to see a large buck in his hunting area; a buck bigger then he was used to seeing.
