If you have IBS, you have probably tried at least three things on this list. Some of them make you feel better for a few hours, maybe even a few weeks. That is very different from actually fixing why you keep having diarrhea in the first place. I have watched women cycle through every one of these treatments, spend thousands of dollars, and still end up back where they started because nobody ever tested what was actually happening in their gut.
In this episode, I'm going to rank the 8 most common IBS treatments from the ones that keep women stuck the longest to the one I actually use with my own clients.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
What is the best treatment for IBS with chronic diarrhea?
The best approach is testing the gut first to find the actual cause, such as bacterial overgrowth, missing protective bacteria, parasites, or inflammation, and then treating what the results show. Guessing with diets or supplements before testing usually leads to temporary relief instead of lasting results, and it often delays the real fix by months or years.
Does the low FODMAP diet actually cure IBS?
No, low FODMAP only reduces symptoms by removing foods, it does not identify or fix why your gut cannot tolerate food in the first place. Most women end up with a shrinking list of safe foods and symptoms that return as soon as they eat normally again, which leaves them more restricted and just as symptomatic months later.
Should I take probiotics for IBS?
Probiotics can help, but taking a random one without knowing what is actually happening in your gut can make symptoms worse. The strain, timing, and condition of your gut all matter before adding more bacteria, and the wrong probiotic can feed an existing overgrowth instead of calming it.
