If, like me, your starting to discover that your own worst enemy is actually inside your head, then this episode is for you.
Daniel Fryer is author of the book The 4 thoughts that F*ck you up and how to fix them: Rewire how you think in 6 weeks with REBT.
Daniel is a psychotherapist who's been helping people change the way they think for over 15 years.
I was keen to ask Daniel about how we get a grip on our internal dialogue and the things we think about ourselves, other people, and the situations we're in.
It seems like no better time to tackle this topic than right now, as we are starting to get very concerned about the coronavirus pandemic.

Adam Wilder is founder of Togetherness and helps people form meaning connections with themselves and others.
Adam has run some remarkable projects, and in this episode he explains:
"I've been working in the field of wellness and intimacy for 15 years. I'm passionate about making intimacy and human connection more accessible and central to culture.
After Brexit I was inspired to create an organisation which helps us to explore ourselves and each other more, so we can be happier, more empowered and make actions more aligned with our beliefs.
In the past I started a line of businesses including Shhh Dating (speed dating without talking), Soak (wooden hot tubs in London) and Burns Baby Burns (London's biggest Burns night).
Aside from working in Togetherness (pretty much full time), I continue my trainings as a counsellor, facilitator and sexologist."

Helena and Simon Hills are accidental entrepreneurs.
Their original business idea revolved around luxury cat furniture before they decided to start TrueStart Coffee.
TrueStart has become a pioneering coffee brand and I wanted to talk to Helena about how they created a coffee with a reliable caffeine high that is now avaialable on Ocado, Wholefoods and many other retailers.
This is the real, unglamorised story of Entrepreneurship.
Enjoy.
About Helena, Simon and TrueStartIn 2015 Helena and Simon were triathlon training alongside busy office jobs, and searching for a coffee that gave them a boost without sending their hearts racing.
After discovering that the caffeine in coffee is both varied and unpredictable, they developed the first coffee in the world to provide a boost with no crash thanks to a stable caffeine content.
Over the next two years, TrueStart quickly established itself as an exciting, respected brand within the fitness industry, winning a host of impressive awards, retailing in over 1000 UK outlets and exporting to several international markets.
Then in 2018 they successfully rebranded, introduced their first cold brew coffee: TrueStart Nitro, and opened their first cafe in Bristol!

Did you know that genes are not destiny? You may have a gene for a potential health problem but that doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to develop that health problem.
In fact, your genes determine an awful lot, they may influence how you respond to particular diets and whether the latest fad diet actually works for you or not. And in exchange, your lifestyle and what you eat and how you exercise may effect how your genes express themselves in your health.
I find it a fascinating subject and for this episode we get stuck right into it with Epigenetics Performance Coach, David Krantz.
And if you have no idea what that means – you will shortly!
We're going to dive in and find out if there actually genes for creativity, how following your passion has actually been shown to have positive health benefits at the epigenetic and immune system levels as well as how are genes impact how we respond to things like Cannabis and psychedelic drugs.
And finally we explore the hot topic of micro-dosing i.e taking tiny daily amounts of psychedelic mushrooms.

Jeetendr Sehdev is author of the New York Times Bestseller; The Kim Kardashian Principle.
I loved this book even though I am no Kim Kardashian fan. Jeetendr makes a really good case that marketing has changed completely and big brands are struggling to keep up.
Now, vulnerability is the new sexy, authenticity matters and flaunting your flaws is probably the best thing you can possibly do for your personal or business brand.
If you know you need to make yourself more visible in the world or you are trying to break through in a crowded space and you are nervous about showing yourself and not knowing what's going to work, then this will be an inspiring and very entertaining episode of the podcast.

Angela Saini is a British science journalist and presents Radio & TV programmes for the BBC. She is also the author of Inferior: How Science Got Women Wrong and the recent Superior: The Return of Race Science.
I saw Angela give a talk last year at a festival and I found her ideas absolutely fascinating. In just 40 minutes she pretty much just exploded the idea of Race in my mind; saying that basically it doesn't exist in Biology.
So I was delighted that Angela agreed to be on the Ideas Lab Podcast where I could explore the ideas with her and also understand about how she has coped with the backlashes she's received over some of her ideas, particularly on social media.

This episode of the Ideas Lab Podcast is a real treat. Our guest this week is Nir Eyal, Bestselling Author of Hooked: How To Build Habit Forming Products and now, Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention & Choose Your Life.
Both of these books have caused something of a sensation upon their release and Indistractable is the buzz book everybody's been talking about for the last few months.
So, if you are distracted by your phone, by your co-workers or by your family when you're trying to get things done and you realise you are not being nearly as productive as you could be then this is for you.
It's a fun conversation that is also packed with actionable advice to make your year ahead the most satisfying yet.
Bonus: At the end there's a treat for you if you've ever wanted to write a non-fiction book because I asked Nir: "What is the secret to writing a bestseller?"
