Elisabeth Elliot and her first husband, Jim Elliot were missionaries in Ecuador during the 1950s. Tragically, Jim would be killed by the very tribe that he was trying to bring the Gospel of Christ to. Shortly after, Elisabeth learned the language and culture of the Waodani people and brought the Gospel to the same people who had brutally killed her husband and left their 10-month old daughter with a father.
