In the fourth episode of the Hard Truths miniseries, we confront one of the most sobering and misunderstood statements Jesus ever made: that there is a sin which will never be forgiven—blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. What does this mean?

 Can a true believer commit it? Have you committed it?

Many wrestle with fear and uncertainty about this verse, but Scripture offers clarity, not confusion. Together, we walk verse-by-verse through this weighty passage, anchoring our understanding in Christ’s redemptive mission.

This teaching is indeed a hard truth—but not without hope. For those who trust in Christ, there is deep comfort, assurance, and rest.

 The unpardonable sin is not for the one broken over their sin, but for those hardened against God’s mercy with full knowledge.

This week, we take a break from the Gospel of John for a special announcement. For this special announcement, we will look at God's design for marriage. What does God see when He looks upon a married couple? Why did God ordain marriage in a certain way? And how is a Godly marriage supposed to look?

So, what is this big announcement?

Well, I am proud to announce that Mrs. Gabryella and I have gotten married! We thank you all for your amazing support and prayers. We are truly excited about this new chapter of our lives. We hope and pray that all we say and do in our marriage and our lives will bring glory to Christ and honor Him.

"If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

In this episode, we explore what it means to be a slave to sin, why we cannot save ourselves, and how Jesus, the Son of God, transforms slaves into sons and daughters through His blood. This week, we’re reminded that:

1. Sin enslaves us far deeper than any political power ever could
2. We are spiritually dead apart from Christ
3. Redemption is only possible through Jesus’ obedience and sacrifice
4. In Christ, we are adopted, made heirs, and can cry out “Abba! Father!”

How important is the Word of God in the life of a disciple?

Jesus continues talking to the Pharisees in John 8. He tells them the Word reveals the true followers and the truth. This truth will set them free. Because His followers abide in His word, like a vine to a branch, they are the disciples that love him. In light of this, our hearts ought to see the delight we have in the Scriptures. Nothing but Christ alone can save. This truth will set us free.

In the third episode of the Hard Truths miniseries, we examine one of the most controversial of Reformed Theology. This is about God's election, mercy and sovereignty. The Scriptures do not say that He loved Esau less, but that He hated Him. How can this be? Just as we explored the last time in the Hard Truths, many have claimed makes God unjust. 

However, this teaching is clear within the Holy Scriptures and must be examined. It may be a hard truth, but we see God's great mercy, and love for us within these verses. His sovereign election brings us to praise and adoration, not anger and rejection. 

May you be blessed by this teaching and the hearing of God's truth.

What is revealed to us when Christ is on the cross? 

As we continue through Jesus' dialogue with the Pharisees in John chapter eight, we see that Jesus tells them that when they have lifted Him up, they will know that "I AM HE". He uses the same sacred name of God. In crucifying Him, they will see that He is God. We will know that it is the perfect, obedient Son who loved His Father and us so much that He suffered death on a cross so that His people would be saved. What a height of love that we could not describe with words!

Jesus gives a stern warning in our passage today that if we do not believe in Him, we will die in our sins. Yet, He does not leave us without hope in this passage in John 8. In the Temple treasury, He emphasizes the Father's love, the Son's obedience, and our dependence on His mercy. What a perfect reminder today, on Good Friday, of how essential it is that we believe in Christ alone.

Christ is the judge who died for the guilty, and yet the world continues to reject Him. Continuing in the Gospel of John, we see that Jesus explains how he judges the world, and we might be surprised to learn that he is not like us. While humanity judges based on outward appearances, God judges the heart. And yet, God - the ultimate judge of all creation-looks upon rebels like us and loves them so much. Come and hear!

Jesus Christ declares himself to be the Light of the World, as we return to our study in the Gospel of John. He shows that He is the only hope in this dark age. But as He says, those who follow Him will walk in the light of life. Understanding this beautiful passage will help us to see what it means that Christ is the light of the world.
