For the Imitators series this week, we look at the life of a rather obscure, unknown figure who had inspired people in the time he lived and centuries later to continue in the faith despite intense persecution. Demetrius of  Thessaloniki (aka Demetrios of Thessalonica) was a third and fourth-century Christian martyr. His life was one of great wealth, fame, and power. Yet, that meant little compared to the faith that he had in Christ - a faith that would get him killed by the authorities. The story of Demetrius is one of faith, encouragement, and determination to preach the Gospel no matter the cost.
