While ambitions and passions are perfectly normal and even healthy within reason, we sometimes get caught up in success. Whether it's career pursuits, personal hobbies, or otherwise, constant success can actually be a detriment to our perspective. Because David was numbering the people to see how successful he was as a king, and was not giving God the credit. You trip when you assume your successes are not God's successes.

If you receive mercies from God, don't you think you ought to give him the glory. Today Pastor Bill will continue reading through the book of 2nd Samuel where you'll see David delivered out of his sin, sing wondrous praises, and give all of his glories to God. God is a God both of justice and restoration. And he desires for you to come to him and be restored like David. But you have to be willing to confront your sins and give it all to God. Are you open enough to go to God for your sin?

In grace, God forgives all of your sins, but He does not remove the consequences of it. Today Pastor Bill will continue reading through the book of 2nd Samuel where you'll see David face the consequences of his wrongdoing, repent and call for justice, even though he knows it may lead to his ruin. David is a model worth emulating because David submits to God's authority and power, and accepts the punishment for his sins. Do you acknowledge and accept the sins you commit?

Sexual sin is one of the most grievous sins, yet even so there is the hope of justice and restoration for God's people. Today Pastor Bill will continue reading through the book of 2nd Samuel where you'll see King David scrambling to cover and hide his sins from God, and the people around him. Sin is everywhere around you, and you cant confront it without God. So hiding it from him is the worst possible action to take when confronted by it. Are you open and honest with God concerning your Sin?

Giving way to sin hardens your heart, and provokes the departure of the Holy Spirit. Robbing you of your reason, and your God-given ability to discern. Today Pastor Bill will tell you how David used exploitation and manipulation of God-given power to give way to his sin and try to use his position to cover up his sin in an attempt to hide from God, thinking “he's in the clear”. Do you mirror David’s attitude of casual acceptance of your own sin? Yes, God forgives but only those who are truly repentant.
