Over the years, research has shown that individuals who have an established relationship with their Primary Care Physician are better at adhering to appropriate screenings, take their medications more appropriately, and have better health outcomes overall. To learn more about how and why employers should encourage employees to connect with a PCP, we spoke with two experts from OhioHealth, Dr. Glen Williams, Senior Medical Director of OhioHealth Employer Solutions, and Levi Fredritz, a Certified Nurse Practitioner with OhioHealth. Together, we discussed how guiding and encouraging employees to establish a PCP relationship can provide additional value to employers through lower healthcare costs, fewer sick days, and improved morale; and shows employees they are cared for through appropriate and attainable benefit resources.
