I met Sarah 12 years ago when I joined a new company and Sarah was working in the HR MAC (Management Advisory Centre) and within my role I would have the pleasure of liaising with Sarah on any employee relations issues within my area of the business.  We developed a great working relationship and re-connected a couple of years ago when Sarah wanted me to do some work at her company around Imposter Syndrome.

#12 Katherine Fitzpatrick

In this episode I’m speaking with Katherine Fitzpatrick

I met Katherine online a few years ago and it was lovely to connect with her as she is also local to where I live.  Despite that we’ve only ever met up once a couple of years ago at a supper club event but I’m hoping to enjoy a dog walk with her soon!

Katherine is a mum of two and works as a senior manager in the Prison Service, which she joined in 2004. Towards the end of high school Katherine lost her focus on education and career direction but refocused and returned to education, gaining a degree in 2000. She enjoys the challenges that leadership brings and developing her team whilst focusing on her own personal development. Katherine took on the challenge of studying for a Master's degree earlier this year in Senior Leadership and is looking forward to furthering her career.

I was introduced to Victoria by my dear friend Natalie Costa (also a previous guest) when I mentioned that I was looking for senior women in business to come on the podcast and share their experience with Imposter Syndrome

Victoria is a 50 year old, Mum of two. Who is London based, married to Nick and works as the Group Operations Director at an international investment house.  Victoria left school at 16, has lived and worked in Africa, America and Australia and has been back in the UK for 15 years.  Divorced, re married, fat, thin, unfit, fit, employer, employee, first time mum at 40 and on a path of self-discovery.

In this episode I’m speaking with Rebecca Ellison

I met Becky at a networking event 5 years ago and since then we have become great friends as well as Becky helping me professionally with the impact of long term stress on my body.

Rebecca is a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist specialising in Lyme Disease/CFS/mold illness and all things chronic illness. Her passion is to find the root cause of her clients health issues and rebuild from there with functional testing, nutrition, lifestyle changes and nutritional supplements. After a 15 year battle with Lyme Disease she is now fully recovered and living a life nobody in the medical community ever thought possible. She is now married and running round after her toddler and cockapoo.

I heard Le’Nise speak at Stylist Live in 2018 and have since followed her online since.  She asked me to be part of her podcast Period Story last year and when I wanted someone to come talk about hormones, I knew I wanted Le’Nise to come talk about hormones.

Le’Nise Brothers is a registered nutritionist, mBANT, mCHNC, specialising in women’s health, hormones and the menstrual cycle, yoga teacher. She is also the host ost of the Period Story podcast. She works with women who want to get control of sugar cravings, mood swings and hormonal acne, bloating and headaches, as well as increase their energy levels.

Le’Nise has helped many women with hormonal issues ranging from PMS, PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, heavy, painful, missing & irregular periods, post-natal depletion, perimenopause and menopause.

She set up her practice Eat Love Move to help empower and educate women to understand their bodies, advocate for better healthcare and heal.

We met as we were about to go on stage for a panel talk at the WomanKind event last March, we had a brief discussion about Imposter Syndrome and after hearing her share her wisdom on the panel, I’ve become a customer and fan of Beth.

Beth had an eureka  moment 3 years ago where she suddenly opened her eyes and saw the world differently.  Beth now runs an online shop selling alternatives to plastic products helping people on the journey to a plastic free life.

Her business motto is knowledge is your power.

Beth shares how Imposter Syndrome showed up for her when she decided to turn her hobby into a full time job

Beth talks about how she felt she had to dull herself down in previous relationships so they weren’t intimidated by her independence and drive

In this episode I’m speaking with Natalie Costa, Founder of Power Thoughts.

We were introduced to each other 4 years ago through a mutual friend and despite living at opposite ends of the country have become great friends and business buddies.

Natalie is an award winning coach, speaker, author and founder of Power Thoughts - a coaching service designed to give children ‘power’ over their own thoughts! Through her private practice and workshops, Natalie has helped thousands of children worldwide discover the tools to help them feel calmer, happier and more empowered!

With a background in psychology and having spent 12 years within the educational sector as well as becoming an accredited Performance Coach, Power Thoughts was born - which blends her past experience and deep understanding of children and their needs, now providing them with the tools to cope and thrive in the modern world.

Her intention is to always be focused on helping one child at a time, to be as happy as they can be.

When not working, Natalie enjoys exploring new city running routes with her husband and she’ll never say no to a good cup of coffee and a slice of cake!

Natalie shares how the idea for Power Thoughts came about and shares what she thinks should be included in the curriculum for children

Natalie talks about transitioning from a teacher to running Power Thoughts and how starting her own business was a trigger for her imposter

Natalie also shares that Power Thoughts wasn’t her first idea and how re-training in fitness gave her the confidence to do what she does now.

#5 Asma Begum 

In this episode I’m speaking with Asma Begum, Founder of Soul Sisters supporting domestic violence survivors. We met last year at the WomanKind North event for International Women’s Day and I sat and listened to Asma tell her story on stage and I felt so moved by her story that I knew I wanted her to be a guest on the show. 

Asma is a British Bangladeshi single mum now living in North UK and is a survivor of domestic abuse, having fled an abusive marriage into a women’s refuge with her young son. She has worked within the Corporate care sector for over 10 years and she now delivers coaching and motivational speeches about the Domestic Abuse. 

Over the last two and half years Asma has joined groups supporting female survivors of domestic abuse, both online and in person. Using her own experiences to inspire and motivate other women that are also wishing to turn their lives around from the negative impact on health, well-being and happiness to positively overcome traumas of domestic abuse. 

Asma shares how her family migrated from Bangladesh and how they had high expectations for her and how that was where Imposter Syndrome started for her. 

She also talks about her experience in the workplace as well as an abusive relationship had an impact on what she believed about herself and how she has broke away from what others told her. 

We talk about the labels that others give you as well as the labels we give ourselves and why it’s important to challenge those and start to peel them away. 

She also talks about how she studied law and instead of following the career path that her dad expected her to follow, life events took her to the work she does now, supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
