The Inconsolables

We enlist the actual important news podcaster, Jack Kruse to argue about stuff this week. The debates: is COD crap? (Yes), is Batman emotionally strong? (Doubt it) and does Batman use a cowl to hide his crying? (Obviously)

All that and so much more crap abounds in this new ep!

We're in full insanity mode this week as we chatter about a bunch of gaming stuff... and some really random tangents.

We have a chat about overseas currency, for example. Yeah.

Andrew's been plugging away at the Spoderman while his PC's out of commission, while Sammy's been playing Life is Strange 2, and Paul's been a busy little Assassin!

Gawrsh! It's a new episode of the Inconsolables. This week, Sony presents a new innovation: crossplay. You know that thing we had until sony ruined everything. Elsewhere, we have more details on Telltale, a discussion on the future of consoles, Goofy dropping the base, and just how much memory does it take to simulate realtime weather-responsive testicle physics.

We dive in the Spiderdude. Sam meanwhile is punching through that parenting simulator God of War, Andrew's done some of that Command and Conquer Rivals Malarkey, and Paul's got more rad VR Titles to chat about.

News:

| PAX AUS deets (less than a month now guys!) | Sony finally re-enabling crossplay (starting with fortnite) | RDR2's memory requirements are horse testictacularly obscene | Updates on Telltale's closure | Correction: Nintendo will hold onto saves | Human sized Pacman maze coming to Australia | Club Penguin Island Closes | KH3 Theme - Collaboration with Skrillex |

Well, Andrew’s still out, and now Paul’s dealing with surgery pain, so I guess it’s all up to Sammy! I’m joined by PaladinRyu (aka Ryu, Aladin, Pad etc.) to discuss all this week has to offer. Sony and Nintendo have thrown out some early press events before TGS next week. EUCD has got some updates, Dr. Disrespect’s house is attacked, and just whole bunch of extra malarkey.

As for stuff we’ve played, Ryu has done a bunch of WoW, Overwatch, 7 Days to die and some Diablo 2. Whereas Sam’s played only a bit of Spiderman, and quite a lot of indie detective game: Lamplight City.

News:

| Sony’s Line up Tour | Nintendo Direct (incl. Nintendo Online) | Update on the EUCD | Dr Disrespect stops stream because someone SHOT HIS HOUSE | New Apple Shit |  Fortnite Monopoly and NERF stuff is coming |

Oh man, oh gosh, oh boy. Spiderman is out! Benny (aka GC Fabio) is here to gush about the latest superhero game. In other news, 2K wants Belgian gamers to defend loot boxes?! Sony thinks it’s so rad they don’t need crossplay, Polygon ditching review scores, and why Fabio and Miley Cyrus are the horse and chicken of humans.

We’ve all sunk our teeth into Spiderman this week, and have mostly good and some glitchy things to share about it. Ben’s also gotten into some Destiny 2 and For Honour, Sam’s gone full indie with some GMTK game jam sampling and Paul’s had super fun medical issues!

 News:

| 2K wants Belgians to beg the government to bring loot boxes back lol | Sony rep says PS4 is the best, that’s why they don’t crossplay | Polygon ditching review scores | Henry Cavill cast as Geralt | Xbox making greaseproof controllers, which is kind of depressing |

Good work everyone, we got rid of Andrew! This week, we've got Ben Slinger from Bit Storm. We talk Cyberpunk releasing gameplay, despite worrying that people would assume it was the final version. Kind of like how everyone's getting pissy about Spiderman "puddle downgrade" ugh.

Ben tells us about his run with the urban fantasy adventure game, Unavowed. He's also finally dipped into For Honour of all things, what? Paul's slammed through some Kingdom Hearts, plus deep dives on the new Two Point Hospital. Sam has some choice words for FMV mystery, Contradiction, then chats spiderman previews, courtesy of the Melbourne Esports Open Event.

Guys, somehow we did it! We didn't kill each other! We made it w00t! This episode's got everything, Gamescom, indies, and oh boy! doxxing! You shouldn't have, no but really you shouldn't have. Oh and the realisation that my parents and Naruto had sex at least once

Paul's still enjoying his VR stuff, Andrew's jumped aboard the Graveyard Keeper Train, and Sam has played a "pinball Metroidvania"?!

 News:

| Gamescom stuff (incl. The Dark Pictures, Life is Strange 2, Devil May Cry and Sekiro) | Nintendo indie stuff (incl. It's late and all the witty title ideas are gone. So maybe it's all over. Reviews can't be trusted not to steal, steam is now letting malware into this games. Such a shame the game industry is over right before episode 100 :(

Aside from that, Paul got some VR stuff (oooooh), Sam's played some Graveyard Keeper, as has Andrew when not fixing his PC.

 News:

| Aww yiss Super Smash Updates | Filip Muicin (IGN) copies off everyone | GameInformer: if you sell it, we can review it | Discord start selling games; Fallout 76 not coming to steam | Steam sells a crypto mining virus, ugh | Dropmix updates w00t | Quakecon, and the Politics of Hell |
