On the latest episode of The Indoencers Podcast, I got to interview veena player and Carnatic vocalist Kavitha Jayaraman. Her journey both in and out of music is a fascinating one - with everything from being a Grammy voter, a performing Carnatic musician, a recipient of a degree in Music Business from Berklee College of Music, the founder of a well-established charity organization, all while pursuing a main career in finance for nearly twenty years! I had so much fun speaking with her for over an hour and a half - we hope you have as much fun on the listening end :)

In this latest episode of The Indoencers Podcast we are shifting the focus a little away from music creation itself, and are instead discussing the topic of music business and music copyright. The Indian Performing Right Society, or IPRS in short, is a key organization that helps protect artists’ rights, and throughout today’s discussion, we’re going to try and get to know how they go about helping protect the rights of lyricists, composers and music companies, among other affiliated parties.
Our guest today, Ms. Rumpa Banerjee, comes with a decorated background of brand management and marketing in the television world, after which she joined the IPRS in 2020 as the head of member relations, marketing and communications.
I found this conversation extremely enlightening and education, and I hope you feel the same way after listening!
This is an episode of the Movies, Music, Memories Podcast (MMM Podcast) which I had the opportunity to once again be a guest on. Thanks to Mr. Vignesh Sankar for having me on once again!

In this episode, we have Nishad (The Indoencers) back on MMM post our successful collaboration on Santhosh Narayanan & Ramesh Vinayakam’s theme based episodes, to discuss his journey/experience as a musician composing his second single ‘Vaanmugil’. We discusses the thoughts behind making the song, involvement of Budapest Scoring for Strings and Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra (TKWO) for Brass and Woodwinds, the choice of singers - Sreekanth Hariharan, Shashaa Tirupati and Anjana JP and the reception for this song from the audience. We also have Nishad throwing light on his upcoming work with an album temporarily named “Life Until 23” involving some great names like Chinmayi, Sathya Prakash, Mohini Dey and many more.
Do tune into this episode and enjoy the experience of hearing it from a musician on what goes into making a song!

On this episode of The Indoencers podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with composer Bharath Sankar! We spoke about his DIY and self-learning approach towards music, how he was certain about music being his career from as early as 9th grade, his experience working with rural musicians from places like Madagascar and Cuba, among so many other topics! As you can tell by the episode length, there was so much to talk about regarding his musical journey, and I had great fun throughout this interview. We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did!

In the latest episode of The Indoencers Podcast, I got to sit down and have a chat with Kalyani Nair - the singer, arranger, and composer who has been a part of some of Tamil music's finest works across the past two decades. We spoke about the influence living in different cities throughout her childhood had on her musical upbringing, her experience working on genre-breaking projects alongside the likes of Pradeep Kumar and guitarist Keba Jeremiah, the joys and troubles involved in running a choir, plus much more. On the 18th episode of The Indoencers Podcast, I got to speak with the insanely talented composer and singer, Girishh Gopalakrishnan. We spoke about so much throughout this interview - his experience learning under the legendary Lalgudi Jayaraman, his musical explorations in the U.K., why he left the U.K. despite being able to live comfortably as a musician there, plus so so much more. I loved how he was so open in sharing his experiences and knowledge, and I hope all of you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!

On the seventeenth episode of The Indoencers Podcast, I had an incredibly fun chat with the genius Navneeth Sundar. We talked extensively about the musical possibilities of the iPad, about his experiences working with Illayaraja-sir and AR Rahman-sir, how he lives "in a world where pink elephants write poems", plus so much more. I enjoyed this conversation so so much, and I hope all of you enjoy it as much as I did!

On the 16th episode of The Indoencers Podcast, I sat down with the incredible folk singer, Aanchal Shrivastava, who is the voice behind songs like "Ishq Akela", the recent hit "Nadan Dil", among many other fantastic songs. She has had an incredibly unique but also tumultuous journey in music, going through periods of unemployment and constant rejections. The way she has been able to fight through this to be able to share her art with all of us, though, is what I personally find incredibly inspiring! I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did :)
