The Indus Valley Civilization

Listen Later

In this episode of Greybeard’s Jewels: A Step Into the Unknown, we examine the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. Although this enormous population flourished at the same time as Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt, its existence wasn’t discovered until much more recently. The Indus Valley Civilization boasted large cities full of advanced technology. Egypt may have had the pyramids, but Indus had flush toilets. The Indus also gave us what may be the earliest example of written language. There’s just one problem: no one has been able to decipher it.
