Get prepared for the Halloween season as hosts Skye and Jonathan spill their guts with special guest Josh and discuss their favorite horror comics, manga, and graphic novels. The Spinner Rack also takes a moment to reflect on personal tastes in horror media, what pulled them in (or sent them running!) as kids, and the fascinating way horror changes over time. Listener beware, this issue likely isn't for the squeamish! If you're not a fan of the spooky-scary parts of the season, but you would still like to hear about upcoming programs at the library, you can skip to 58:11.

For the special one year anniversary of the Spinner Rack (and Batman Day of course), we are talking all things Gotham. From blind ranking the colorful rogues gallery and Batman's own caped companions, to discussing what the library has in store to celebrate, this episode is packed with the Dark Knight. Plus, we discuss an older, seemingly forgotten run that caught our attention for both its occult themes and wild lore implications, and the newest DC animated film, Batman: Knightfall.

Skye and Jonathan are back with a special anniversary episode! Yep, it has been one year since the Spinner Rack launched, sort of. A year ago Skye and Jonathan published their first podcast for 2025's Batman Day as a one off, which led to the Spinner Rack.
This year's episode has some fun blind rankings, and a look at a Batman story that gave Jonathan childhood trauma: Dark Knight, Dark City, and more. So grab your favorite Batman blanket, or fire up your favorite Arkham game, grab a tasty beverage, and relax as we talk about all things Batman!
This month's issue of the Spinner Rack has one singular focus: Spider-man: Brand New Day! If you want to stay spoiler-free make sure to watch the film first before coming back to hear Jonathan and Skye's in depth review. From their feelings on the cast of characters, to delighting in the small details, to discussing why this might be the movie that lures Skye back to the MCU for the first time in over a decade, they're talking about it all. And for the disappointed DC fans, keep an eye out for a special Batman Day episode later this month!

While we always start our discussions relatively spoiler-free, if the premise sounds interesting, take a moment to read Volume 1 for yourself before we get into too many details! The Spinner Rack also takes a trip down memory lane talking about Skye's recently acquired '90s Kenner action figures.
