Jesus continues performing miracles. And people continue seeking a way to imprison him. The Lord of hosts walks amongst us. The water of the temple quickens at Our Lord’s passing.

Jesus cures the son of a royal officer. He walks among friends and foes. The king, scribes, Pharisees and people are seeking an opportunity to kill him. Jesus continues full of love making way for people to find God working amongst them. Our God walks with us

Laetare Sunday- We have reached the half point of Lent. Jesus meets with Nicodemus and tells Him He has come to set us free. He is the light of the world. In the OT we see people turning away from God doing abominable things that place them in slavery. How do you enslave yourself?

Jesus focuses today on the image of the Pharisee and the tax collector bringing their prayers to the temple. One counts all the ways he’s being righteous and the other one beats his breast asking God’s forgiveness. At least midpoint of our Lenten journey we can ask how merciful we are being In the words of the prophet Hosea

All this week, the daily readings have been reminding us of the importance of the Commandments. Today Jesus gives the shema again to the scribes when they put him to the test. Do you know what that is? Hosea the Prophet instructs us also to return our hearts to God. Psalm 81 reminds us to hear the voice of God.

We get hurt. We feel offended. We get confused. We lose our way. We harden our hearts when we stop listening to God. We harden our hearts when we stop seeing our neighbor.

To live life fully before God we have to know His law first.

The story of the debtor who cannot forgive is ours. We can struggle with it. The Lord can help us

The story of Naaman, a Syrian army commander who has leprosy and goes to Elisha to be cured, shows us how we can close our heart to miracles right at the moment when they’re about to happen. When we let pride and anger take over we close off. In the story of the Gospel of Luke, we find Jesus traveling to Nazareth and speaking in the synagogue about this very story. He says that a prophet is not welcome in his native city. This angers the people that he grew up with to the point that they want to throw him off a cliff

The parable of the prodigal son teaches us to experience and extend mercy. Psalm 103 teaches us to thank God for His mercy
