Understanding blockchain technology is the focus of this episode of the podcast. Alex Tapscott joins us for this week's episode of the podcast to talk about those topics and more. His just-released book, Blockchain Revolution: How the Technology Behind Bitcoin is Changing Money, Business, and the World, looks at blockchain in-depth. It is co-written with best-selling author Don Tapscott and is based on interviews with a wide range of technology pioneers that includes Marc Andreesen, Tim Berners-Lee, and Vint Cerf, among others. Alex is the CEO and founder of Northwest Passage Ventures, an advisory firm that builds blockchain companies. In 2014, Alex wrote the seminal report on governing digital currencies for the Global Solutions Network program at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Mitch was the Executive Producer on USA Today’s award-winning Harvest for Change VR series and has won awards including the Pulitzer, the News Innovation Award from the Knight Foundation, and the Best Use of Technology in Journalism from the National Press Foundation. Mitch was one of the co-authors of the Knight Foundation’s recently released whitepaper, Viewing the Future of Virtual Reality in Journalism.

Professor Duggan teaches innovation in three venues at Columbia Business School: MBA and Executive MBA courses, and Executive Education sessions. In 2014 he won the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence. He has given talks and workshops on innovation to thousands of executives from companies in countries around the world.
