Today's conversation touches on some topics that are extremely close to my heart. I have the pleasure of discussing these issues with Cody Royle, who is achieving some significant recognition for his outside the box style approach to leadership, culture, well-being and performance.

Cody Royle is an author, podcast host, and football coach. Currently, he serves as the head coach of AFL Team Canada, the men's national program for Australian Rules football. 

Cody is a standout voice in the crossover of leadership principles between sports and business. His first book, Where Others Won't, proposed that businesses should look at how pro sports teams focus on team dynamics and talent optimization in order to innovate.

The book includes in-depth interviews with the likes of Buffalo Sabres head coach Ralph Krueger and draws on many amazing lessons from some of the greatest leaders in sports from around the globe.

Today’s epic guest is no stranger to the experience of Flow and has built phenomenal success in one of the ultimate flow experiences on the planet - Surfing.

Bede Durbidge hails from North Stradbroke island via Brisbane and reached the pinnacle of Professional surfing in 2008 finishing runner up overall.

Bede spent 3 years in the top 5 in the world  and has endured some major obstacles in achieving his greatness in the surfing World. Some of which we dig into today

Today Bede continues to build his legacy as a father, partner and as the Elite Performance manager for Surfing Australia where he will become the First Australian Coach to lead the Australian Olympic Surfing team next year in the postponed Olympic Games.

I can’t imagine there’s a better leader out there to tackle the challenge and embed his attitude vision and vibe into the sport
