Today I’m taking a look at a somewhat rare and misunderstood chip - Intel’s i487 SX. The i487 was marketed as a “math co-processor” to pair up with the 486 SX back in 1991. But as you’ll soon see, the i487 is not what it appears, and Intel’s somewhat disingenuous marketing led to a lot of confusion surrounding this chip. Join me today as I dig in give the i487 a try!
