They are: Lebo Gafane-Matemane, Associate Professor of Physiology from North West University in South Africa; Karla Neves, Lecturer at Strathclyde University in the UK; and Hamdi Jama - Research Fellow at Monash University in Australia.
Lebo, Karla and Hamdi spoke about their career paths, their experience of mentorship, and more.

In the latest episode, we had the privilege to interview Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak, a Regius Professor of Medicine at the University of Glasgow; Honorary Consultant Physician and Non-Executive Member of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board; Health Innovation Champion for the Medical Research Council; and Chief Scientist (Health); Scotland. She has made important contributions to field in several leadership positions, including as the President of the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland (2018-2021), President of European Society of Hypertension and Secretary of ISH and Editor-in-Chief of Hypertension. Amongst several awards, Professor Dominiczak is the recipient of the 2022 ISH Robert Tigerstedt Award.

In the latest episode, we had the privilege to interview Dr Ed Sturrock, Professor in the Department of Integrative Biomedical Sciences (where he was the Head of the Department during 2015-2020) and a founding member of the Institute of Infectious Diseases and Molecular Medicine at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He is a Fellow and past council member of the Royal Society of South Africa, a Fellow of the University of Cape Town, a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa, a visiting professor at the University of Bath, and has a National Research Foundation B1 rating. Together with colleagues from the UK and USA, he founded AngioDesign (UK) Ltd, a spinout company that focuses on the rational design of enhanced next-generation drugs for proven disease targets.

Hospital Scientist at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney Australia. Dr Mihailidou engages in both biomedical and clinical research as Head of the Cardiovascular & Hormonal Research Laboratory at the Kolling Institute, and is an Honorary Associate Professor at Macquarie University.
Dr Mihailidou has an extensive contribution to service. She is the Vice-Chair of the ISH Communications Committee. Due to her expertise running the Diagnostic Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Clinical Service, she is a member of the Advisory Board of the STRIDE_BP to standardize blood pressure measurement. Amongst many other service roles, Dr Mihailidou is also a member of the Lancet Commission on Cardiovascular Disease in Women.

In the latest episode, we had the pleasure to interview our co-host Dr Augusto Montezano, a research fellow at McGill University, Canada. Before that, Dr Montezano was a Walton Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He is an active member of the hypertension scientific community advocating for Early Career Researchers at the European Council on Cardiovascular Research, the American Heart Association Council on Hypertension and the International Society of Hypertension, where he has contributed to the New Investigator Committee, Mentoring and Training Committee, and the Women in Hypertension Research Committee for nearly a decade.

In the latest episode, we had the privilege to interview Dr Camilla Wenceslau, A/Prof in the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, USA. Dr Wenceslau was named the 2022 American Heart Association Hypertension Council Goldblatt Awardee.

In the latest episode, we had the honour to interview Dr Dulce Casarini, a Professor of Medicine at Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Casarini was treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Hypertension during 2017-2019, is a member of the scientific council until 2022, and is an elected-member of the scientific committee of the Gordon Angiotensin Conference from 2018-2022. She has trained and mentored more than 100 students and post-doctoral fellows.

Dr Jones is a member of the executive committee of the Southern African Hypertension Society and at ISH she is a member of the Communications Committee and the lead for the ISH monthly bulletin.
