Kate Macmunn female winner of the DU135 race 2024.

In this episode we chat to Kate about her experience completing the brutal course that is the DU135. Kate is the first female since 2019 to complete the course only two women have ever completed the course. This paves the way for other women to follow in Kate's footsteps. 

Kate is one of the most determined strong-willed women out there. She is a midwife by day and mum and wife 24/7. 

I don't think Kate fully realises just how big her achievement actually is!!

We are also joined by Matt Russell who along with myself paced Kate throughout the race.

In this episode we unpack my race representing Australia at the World Trail and Mountain running championships, in the Austrian town of Innsbruck.

Welcome to the Intuitive Runner with Nigel Hill.

Nigel Hill is an ultra trail runner, father, husband and business owner of  NHL Landscaping.

He began running in high school, doing triathlons and then moved to VFL footy. 

He played for Williamstown FC before moving to different leagues across Victoria. 

He retired from footy at age 32 and did his first Melbourne Marathon in 2012 two days before his second child was born. 

What he learnt from that first marathon would shape how he would approach all his events from then on. 

His formula for success got him to his ultimate achievement of Winning Down Under 135 mile race in 2021. 

Nigel is someone who takes the trial and error process and makes it work for him, gathering knowledge and information and using it to move forward. 

His philosophy is that there are never any mistakes just new information to gather and use, that trusting yourself and your body to make the next right move for you is everything, when you have trust you gather evidence towards the next great thing that you can achieve.

We truly can do anything we put our minds to.
