In this episode I have on Raina - a mother to two boys, a believer, and a women that embodies what it means to be in co-creation with God.

Our conversation shines light on the ability we have as women, particularly as mothers, to shape our experiences to be more coherent with our true essence. She shares her birth experiences and how they differed based on who she was and the decisions she made at the time, ultimately leading her to choose to birth her most recent baby at home with just her firstborn and her husband. 

We touch on the challenges and invitations that show up in marriage in birth and in early parenting - a phase we are both in right now - and how beautiful it can be to come to the other side as a stronger family unit. We also talk about men in the birth space and how the journey may look for them.

In this episode I speak with a good friend of mine and a mama to two young, energetic and sweet boys. Our connection was formed during her early postpartum of her first son and has continued into the birth of her second which I was so blessed to be present for, and now into the wildness and joys of motherhood. She shares so vulnerably the challenges and true liberation that she has found on her journey - and how deeply it has shaped who she is today - a woman, and mother she is so proud to be. She takes us through her first birth where she transferred to hospital and found herself in the depths of the intensity of that postpartum period. She then shares how differently she felt going into her second birth, which ended up being a swift and redemptive unassisted birth. She really speaks to the fullness of what it is to be a mother and how we can always find our greatest treasures in the seemingly messy and broken parts, especially when we choose lean in. Christina is a woman of God living on Vancouver Island. In this episode she shares her story of early birth with us. She speaks to a longer than expected 3 years of waiting until she conceived her first baby and the ways it challenged her, and encouraged her to deepen her healing. She then takes us through early birth due to pregnancy loss of that baby. Standing firm in her own knowing and faith that she would give birth to this baby in her own time and at home despite medical fear mongering - she did just that. Christina’s story speaks to a version of birth which is often medically managed without question, and reminds us that it can be honoured and supported just as the birth of a full term baby would be.
