Video games are no easy feat to adapt and got even bigger obstacles in their way just making it to the screen from studios that don't understand the material to audiences & critics who aren't sure what they truly want to take away from it even by simplistic entertainment standards.

Do filmmakers approach these too much like comic books and best-selling novel adaptations? Are too many of the plot lines too derivative of far more popular adventure, zombie and other blockbuster movies? Why can some of us not agree on the most basic of premises?
