The Japan Men's team took the reigning World Champions to the last ball of the match, the day after a typhoon had swept through Sano.

That's right, news dropped on Friday night that the India Men's team will take on the boys from Japan in a T20 International on 22nd September - barely two weeks away!

While there's plenty to unpack around that, there's also the small matter of internationals against Malaysia for the Women and Hong Kong for the Men happening first.

After that everyone jumps on buses to Nagoya for the Asian Games - so a busy September is incoming!

We find time to talk about the recently concluded JCL T10 as well, although rain scuppers the J20 Finals Day.

Japan vs India at the Asian Games! Who saw that coming? A date with destiny for the Japan Women's Team, while the Men will take on Afghanistan and Nepal - so plenty for Alan and Todd to comb through there.

The Japan Olympic Committee approved the Japanese players selected for the Games as well, so that was another talking point.

There's half an update on the Men's World Cup Qualification pathway, but details remain clear as mud, while there's also time to chat about the Under 19 Women's historic tournament in Malaysia and a bit of domestic cricket to boot.

Lastly there's a thank you and farewell to a Japan Cricket Icon.

We're a little late to the party here, but at least we've got back in the end! Plenty for Alan and Todd to look back on since the Women's Japan Premier League culminated in a terrific finish at the end of May before the Women's Japan National Team jetted off to the ACC Premier Cup in Malaysia.

Not only that, but the Women's Japan Under 19 team are about to take the the field for the very first time this weekend, so that gets a mention as well.

Todd's Back! As much as we loved having Daniel Beswick with us, all now feels right with the world as Mr Luckhurst returns to join Alan in discussing the JPL, the men's EAP and a little of the Women's JPL as well.

With Todd winging his way back to Australia following his stint in Japan, Alan once again collaborates with Daniel Beswick of Emerging Cricket fame to run the rule over the EAP World Cup Sub Regional Qualifier so far.

They also discuss the recently announced Japan Premier League Star Players and what that means for the competition ahead of the Draft on Tuesday 24th March.
