There are numerous people you think about while considering who the best broadcasters are in a particular sport. While thinking about this topic, it won't take you long for Ian Eagle's name to come to your mind. Iean Eagle has been one of the top play-by-play broadcasters for decades. From his time with the Nets, to his time calling national NBA & NFL games, Ian has a unique style that is easy to love. If you haven't guessed it, Ian Eagle is this weeks guest as we kickoff Broadcasters Month on the show. Jay and Ian discuss foods Ian has never eaten, how he stays fresh, differences between the early 2000s Nets to this years Nets team, and some highlights from his time calling the French Open.

Women in Sports Month has been a great addition to the podcast. Allowing women to help us learn what it's like being a women in sports is great for everyone. Sports is dominated by men, and that's something that might not change. That doesn't mean women can't be a bigger part of sports in every aspect. Today's guest is someone that is a great example of a female that can and will make her mark in sports. Today's guest is Miss Maddy Hudak. Maddy Hudak writes for USA Today's Saints Wire and is the sideline reporter for Tulane football. Maddy and I react to the Nick Saban-Jimbo Fischer fiasco, discuss her entrance into working in sports media, and have an in depth conversation about the importance of taking care of your mental health.
Candace Cooper is back! Candace and I had so much fun during last weeks episode we decided to run it back. On this week's episode Candace talks about "punishment practices" while at North Carolina, relying on her mental toughness, the student athlete experience, and how she'd benefit from NIL.
As women in sports month continues, Jay welcomes someone to the podcast that has a really unique story. Candace Cooper is this weeks guest as she talks about what it was like being the first black female swimmer at the University of North Carolina. This is part 1 of Jay's conversation with Candace. This week we hear Candace talk about her experience playing club sports, being a high school swimmer, why she committed to North Carolina, and when she found out she was a pioneer.
Today marks the start of women in sports month on The Jay Stephens Podcast. The month of May allows us to have five women the opportunity to come on the podcast and talk about their journey being a women in sports. Every women has a different story. No one's journey is the same. Which is why Jay is looking forward to what each guest says about their journey along the way. Our first guest is Alexa Wester. Jay and Alexa have followed each other on twitter for quite some time. Alexa spends some time talking about her journey in sports, her days playing high school basketball, and how things can improve for women in a male dominated field.
