It was alumni week for me at the athletic dept. As I attended a gathering of former Gopher Employees. A couple of days later attended alumni day of Gopher Baseball.

I start this episode off with a salute former Gopher's Softball coach Piper Ritter, who was relieved of her duties on Friday. I then called for the firing of Present Gopher A.D. Mark Coyle and my reasoning for his dis-missle. 

I move onto Purposed rule changes by leaders of college athletics. No more waiting for FCS to FBS schools.

The school President's got together to put pen to paper and you need to hear some of their ideas. 

The word is out on how much the revenue stream produced in 2024-25 and how was the money split up. 

They finally did it after much discussion and fix something that was not broken. Find out who they are and what they tried to make better. 

Lasty, I interviewed some form Gopher Athletic department staffers and listen to their thoughts on the mess that is today college sports.

Rich worked close with J for more than decade. Rich began with a look at his background . We went on to discuss our history with J. Robinson. Rich told several stories with with me about the many sides of J Rob. J was a simple, but complex leader of a national winning program. After our look back at J and the wrestling program, we talked about the present day college athletics. How would have J delt with it. Has the changes in changed Rich's love of college sports.

The inability of the leaders to say no to those who they need to is bursting budgets all the country in college sports.

Tampering enforcement is causing the conference leader to fight over more items. Should the NCAA enforcement of roster tampering is hot topic. One conference wants to pause enforcement and some want to continue forward and prosecute they offending schools and one conference is talking out both sides of their mouth. Find out which conference is say what and why.

They claim that budgets are out of control. Some schools are handling in a way that they promised to that not to do. I tell you promise you what promise isn't kept.

Speaking of budget busting, what two letter word is not being said by Presidents, A.D.'s and Coaches and why not saying that is costing them billions of dollars in total in college sports. Agents, player reps and players abilities to always get the leaders to say a three letter words. If this is big business way is is it so had to say the two letter word that leads to control. Control of budgets, people, school athletic depts and conferences.

Lastly, a racial issue with a deeper dive into why it's happening around the country at the Power 4 level of college basketball at this time of year. It's shameful at a glance and mis-leading on another level.

I once again sit down with my friend Pete Narjaian, former MPLS Central High, Minnesota Gopher football star and NFL Player. Pete and I first break the news that Lou Holtz is in hospice care. We discuss the impact he had on both of our lives and others. We moved on to the magic that U. of Indiana performed by winning a national championship at the highest level of CFB and why it's a story for the ages and why it gives all schools like Indiana hope to become more successful in these time of NIL, Rev share and the transfer portal. 

Pete continues to have interest and interviews with college teams about the position of general manager. He also shared his thoughts of what lead to bloody Friday in Minnesota. As the Vikings and Twins bot parted ways with there GM's on the same day. I asked him about interest at the Pro Level and his answer and thoughts may interest you. Pete threw his thoughts on the direction and lack of leadership in college sports. We touched on the Darrian Mensah, Duke v. Miami situation and how it was resolved.
