The JBS Training Group Podcast

Trek (Erik Utrecht) and I sit down and discuss a bunch of stuff from self-reliance to firearms training out at MDFI. We also had a really interesting conversation about firearm and range safety. I'm looking forward to getting back out to MDFI for some of their classes. Check out MDFI here.

Whats up y'all?! This is a great episode with my friend Jon Hatcher of Sun & Shadow. I have been talking to Jon for years about shooting since I first met him at a DMR match back in the day. We talk about gas guns, precision rifles, competition to hone your skills, and a bunch of other great topics. Jon runs a company called Sun & Shadow and has a pretty exciting match coming up that he has been planning. I hope y'all enjoy this as much as I did!

Kicking off the start of the year with Joe Dawson of Bruiser Industries. Joe has become a great friend and someone whose perspective on shooting I value. I initially wanted to have a conversation around LPVOs since Joe is a self-proclaimed glass-snob, but we ended up getting off topic and talking about things like precision carbine shooting, Japanese glass, CQB, rifle-length gas systems, and more!

What’s happening y’all?!  I’ve been traveling all over the country shooting with some great folks lately. I just wrapped up the first-ever JBS  Training Group Rifle Match out in Texas - the prizes and trophies were awesome!  I had one heck of a time y’all!

I brought my producer, Greg, back on the show this week to ask me some questions and catch up on life, my upcoming DMR match, and the new 18” rifle I’ll be using. Grab your favorite bourbon (try Basil with a few rocks) and enjoy the show!

Find a spot to chill and check out this week's episode with Grant Yount, of the police academy firearms training program. Grant is a long-time student and on one helluva tear in his personal training and performance shooting journey. Grant shares a bit about his job and how he ended up working as an instructor, what it was like attending his first JBS Training class, and how many of his first pistols all shot low and left. Ha! Super proud of Grant's focus on excellence and his mission to inspire others to become better shooters and men.

Find a spot to chill and check out this week's episode with Nick Young, of Velox Training Group. Nick is a long-time friend and straight-shooter. We have always thought about training in a very similar way. What’s happening y’all?!  I’ve been traveling all over the country shooting with some great folks lately.  I just wrapped up a private training with my San Francisco SWAT brethren here at my private range.  Heck of a time!  I brought my producer and editor, Greg, on the show to ask me some questions and catch up on life, my upcoming rifle match in Texas, and my new pistol from Smith & Wesson.  I have been shooting it exclusively, and I think I love it.  Grab your favorite beverage (Liquid Death or Zevia) and enjoy the show!

Find a spot to chill and check out what Scott Peterson and I had to say about competitive shooting on this week's JBS Training Group Podcast. Scott is one of the best competitive rifleman around and we probably got enough to chat about for a part 2 in the near future. I value his opinions and look forward to him coming out to shoot my rifle match in the next few weeks. Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy the show!
