Alfonso Hernández Olmos has a Bachelor in Industrial Design from the Tecnológico de Monterrey from 2004, with 4 previous semesters of Mechanical Engineering. He was born in Mexico City in October 1979 and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. He worked on a water purifier project for a former NASA and SkunkWorks Engineer from whom he learned about flywheels and their potential use in electric vehicles. During college he started a small digital lab studio creating interactive content and 3D animations. As a graduate, he started working designing automotive packaging for a US company in Monterrey for almost 2 years, resulting in a US Patent Application after the first year. From 2012 to 2014, he independently promoted a dozen 20 MW mini-hydroelectric projects to sell their Green Energy while simultaneously leading a Security APP startup that had secured Federal funding. In 2015 he started and funded Advanced Power Vehicles (APV) with the purpose of accelerating the country's transition to EVs. With funding from CONACYT, the team converted a Diesel bus into 100% electric in 9 months, capable of pulling 30 tons (60,000 pounds). In 2017, through APV design, he developed and led the manufacturing of the first Electric Carriages in the world that have successfully replaced horse drawn carriages in a city as a tourist attraction.
