Wren Baker grew up in small-town Oklahoma, and even though sports were a big deal in Valliant, he didn’t play in high school. He focused on academics in the hopes of getting a full-ride college scholarship. It worked, but while he was at Southeastern Oklahoma State, the decision to take a class about coaching basketball changed Baker’s career path. Now, he’s the athletic director at West Virginia. He talks about his journey as well as an interesting first year in Morgantown. (He decided not to fire the football coach, which was a good call, but then he fired the men’s basketball coach, which was a necessary call.) Baker talks about all of that and more on The Jenni Carlson Show.
