In this episode, we spoke with Lauren about how Covid made the world a smaller place - even if it is more difficult to travel - and how more and more entrepreneurs are looking to expand and grow their businesses on a global level. Based on her expertise and experience in starting her own non-profit, Lauren explained the difference between a social business and a non-profit. She spoke about the mistake that people make when they think that having a non-profit means that they will not make money. And finally, we spoke about the special challenge that single moms have in raising their children on their own, especially when they are also entrepreneurs. Lauren is a single mom of a 10-year-old, and I was also a single mom of 2 kids for many years, so I asked Lauren to give some advice to other single mompreneurs and I found that the advice she gave was really to the point.
In this episode, we spoke with DR Rivkah Lambert Adler about the Redemption - which is not only coming for the Jews but for the whole world as well - and how these special times will bring a renewed relationship between the Jewish People and the Nations, and a new role for Women, as the world will be aligned more with its feminine dimension. I am sure that you will enjoy this episode!
In this episode, Heather and I are having a conversation around the Hashtag War between #MyUnorthodoxLife #MyOrthodoxLife that happened after Netflix aired the very controversial show My Unorthodox Life. Heather Dean is an author and a professional interviewer who has left her Unorthodox life to chose to live the life of an Orthodox Jewish Woman. This is exactly the opposite of my journey, and that's why we decided to take the Netflix show as an excuse to have a fascinating conversation around our life choices and why we are so happy that we have made them. Throughout this episode, you will learn so much about how television shows are produced and what is the incentive of producers to chose the stories that are going to keep you glued to your screen. But you will also hear 2 different perspectives of what the Jewish Orthodox community is today, what we can do to improve it, and how, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is not WHAT life you live but HOW aligned you are with the life you have chosen for yourself.
Enjoy listening!
In this episode, Bianca shares with us how the Asian Jewish Network was launched in the UK just before Covid and how bringing together both those communities was a great way to strengthen the bonds, an event at a time where antisemitism in the UK is rising. Bianca explained the similarities between both these communities and how she felt the need to start a Women Only networking group which is already very popular.
In this episode, we had a fascinating conversation with Karen about what it means to be Jewish in our world today. Karen spoke about her biggest challenge as an American Jew living in Paris - she doesn't feel safe anywhere! After the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015, she thought about going home to the US where her family thought she would be safer. But then the attack on the Pittsburg Synagogue happened and nothing was less sure. And when people tell her that she can move to Israel, where Jews are supposed to be safer, she responds that having a bomb shelter in your house and sending her unique son to the army doesn't feel so safe to her either. At some point in this episode, it got so emotional for Karen that she shed a few tears of frustration, which I have to admit I feel as well, as I am sure many others do.
In this episode of the JWE Podcast, we had a fascinating discussion with Shoshanna Keats Jaskoll about shifting the conversation and changing social attitudes about Israel & Women. Shoshanna is an activist and an advocate for Israel and Women and she believes in educating, sharing knowledge and information, and practicing smart advocacy. She says that change will happen only from the bottom up once Women and Jews all around the world will own their narrative and will know how to, not only defend themselves but also be proactive with the message they want to share.
