Raised in a musical family surrounded by vintage guitars, studying classical voice, musical theater, and  once dreamed of Broadway. But one night, at a concert by The Wailin’ Jennys opening for Nickel Creek, everything changed. She heard the sound of her own future, took  a hard-left turn into Americana and to this day continues building her reputation of being  a soulful and deeply emotional artist.

Welcome back to the show, everyone. Today we’re joined by an athlete whose story blends pure prairie grit with big Olympic dreams. She first laced up skates at just four years old and jumped into the local hockey program without looking back. Inspired by Canada’s golden overtime victory at Sochi 2014, she’s been chasing that same feeling ever since.

When she’s not on the ice, you can find her coaching at summer hockey camps, working on her family’s ranch, or out exploring the outdoors—hiking, camping, golfing, biking, and of course, riding horses, a passion she’s carried since childhood.

Joining me now for an in depth conversation is an athlete whose heart is on the ice, but whose roots run deep in the Canadian prairies.
