The Jim Carrey Project

We're stuck in suburbia where the perfect family isn't quite what it seems to be in this made for TV movie. We talk about Jim Carrey's dramatic chops, inability to be silly, and just how long actors have to pause before a commercial break.

We jump way ahead for a special episode about Sonic the Hedgehog. It's not every day that you start a project and your subject makes a long awaited return to comedic films. We talk about nostalgia, fan response, and the difficulty of working with CGI costars.

In this episode we discuss the 1989 musical comedy, Earth Girls Are Easy, starring Geena Davis, Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans, and Jeff Goldblum. It's a wild ride as we try to figure out what it must have been like to be on set, reminisce about how hunky Jeff Goldblum was/is, and wish for more musical numbers in this musical comedy.

We're heading out the the mean streets of San Francisco and catching up with Dirty Harry in The Dead Pool (not that one).   This classic 80's movie still holds up against the test of time even if the hair styles are a little dated. If you watch it, keep an eye out for Guns N' Roses!

We take a trip back in time to the 1960's to see if we made the right decisions. Don't worry, we don't have to worry about any time travel paradoxes on this jaunt through time!

We travel back to high school and relive the drama of trying to lose our virginity as we watch Once Bitten. This 1985 film is one of the first Jim Carrey movies that Brian remembers watching. It still holds up and definitely fits into the 80's high school comedies that were popular at the time. We hope you enjoy!

In this weeks video, we're tearing up the slopes with the 1983 film, "Copper Mountain", starring Jim Carrey, Alan Thicke, and a bunch of random musicians. This film seemed more like one long Coors Light commercial but it was fun. The movies Brian can't remember are The Shining and The Jerk.

On the second episode of The Jim Carrey Project, we watch and discuss the 1983, VHS release of The Sex & Violence Family Hour. We didn't know what we were getting into but it was a lot of fun and an interesting looking at some of the characters Jim Carrey gets to play.
