Most of the books on sales strategies I’ve read fall into the category of overpromising and underdelivering. On the other hand, some books focus more on manipulative tactics. These tactics are more commonplace with high-pressure sales. People eventually see through the smoke and mirrors, though. Even if it’s several months down the line.
High pressure rarely leads to repeat sales or happy customers.
In the real world, most people succeed in sales by understanding their clients and customers. They succeed by selling them legitimate products or services they need or want.
