Along with the bill's price controls on prescription drugs, which hit drug makers with penalties and slash medical research for new, life saving medicines, Democrats have more to worry about.

Vulnerable Democrats voted on this tax raising, energy killing, IRS expanding, free money to electric car buyers piece of legislation going into the midterms. There was a media blackout on the bill's contents before the Senate voted, but now, Americans are learning what a terrible bill this is.

He is the author of numerous legislative proposals—including two bipartisan balanced budget amendments—and opinion articles, as well as chapters in several edited volumes.

Couchman holds a master’s degree in economics from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania/Cook Honors College. He and his family reside in northern Virginia.
