Prior to the pandemic, all I really cared about was becoming a famous comedian.
I had values, sure. I was going to help with things, sure. I was planning to contribute, to volunteer, I was going to write, I wanted to help, etc...
What I really had was a need to be valued and recognized externally. And the quickest shot of dopamine/serotonin/oxytocin offering that was making a group of strangers laugh, love me, then leave me alone.
What I had was trauma. And I still do. The process of recognizing this, and beginning the slow and long road to reconstructing myself, my brain, my future, has truly began through the pandemic.
I hope this show can serve as an offering of love to the world. A way, by recognizing where I am, that I acknowledge wherever you are as well. I love where that is, and I hope you do to. Whatever is in your power to do, that is first and foremost, exactly in accordance with whom you'd like to be, I hope you do.
