On a recent episode of “Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk” on SiriusXM’s Faction Talk (Ch. 103), Sammy Hagar expressed interest in exploring Van Halen’s vault of unreleased songs. He mentioned that it likely contains a significant amount of Eddie Van Halen’s music and that he would like to work on any unfinished material. However, he cautioned fans not to get “too freaking excited” because he doesn’t believe Alex Van Halen is interested in opening the vault.

“Alex just isn’t user-friendly,” Hagar stated. “I don’t know why, but he’s just not.”

Despite this, Hagar noted that Eddie Van Halen’s son, Wolf, seems more open to the idea of releasing the music.

“If Alex were user-friendly, I’d get with him and Wolfie to go through it,” Hagar added.

Sammy Hagar kicked off his eagerly anticipated Best of All Worlds Tour with a 21-track set at the 20,000-capacity iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL. Van Halen songs comprised two-thirds of the performance.

Hagar opened the evening with a rendition of "Good Enough," the opening track from 1986's "5150" album, accompanied by guitarist Joe Satriani, bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham, and multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte. He followed this with two songs from 1991's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge": "Poundcake" and "Runaround." The set also featured David Lee Roth-era Van Halen classics such as "Panama" and "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love," with a section of "Jump" appearing in a medley that included Montrose's "Space Station #5" and Chickenfoot's "Oh Yeah."

The performance also showcased Joe Satriani's iconic "Satch Boogie," a track he frequently played during his time with Deep Purple. Hagar delivered solo classics like "There's Only One Way to Rock," "Eagles Fly," "Heavy Metal," and "I Can't Drive 55."
