Do parents NEED educating? Who says? Who decided this? Where did it start? Why did it start? Just getting a few thoughts out...

Wayne is a parent of 13 year old Lewy who has been involved with JOLF since he first experienced golf aged 5. He provides amazing insight into his, Lewy’s and my journey as a coach over the years. Loads in there for everyone to reflect and learn from, I know I have!!!

Loved this chat with Peter from Happy Hockey. We chat a LOT, so it was good to get an intro and explanation to the philosophy and principles of Happy Hockey. And look at how a sport like hockey attracts and retains new players. Also exploring the foundations of a club and community that gives people more than a sporting experience.

I am LOVING putting this podcast out each day (maybe even slightly obsessed!) Just wanted to get some thoughts out on one of the chats I have had this week. Turning moments into nuggets, nuggets into ball and balls into bars!!!

So much “stuff” came up in this chat with Pete! (As is becoming a common theme of all the chats!!) An intro to his new project “Train like a Tiger” and what we can learn from how he was introduced to golf. Plenty of practical examples of how children and adults can play golf and take ownership of their learning and progression. So many golden moments in this chat that I know will add up to some NUGGETS!

So great to connect and engage with people through the app “Clubhouse” just wanted to reflect and review the chat that happened last night. Is it self indulgence? Is it developing self awareness? Either way I LOVE chatting junior golf and everything that goes with it! The obsession continues ;)

Loved this chat with Holly from Mid Sussex Active. Enjoyed her perspective and insight into play, physical activity, physical education and sport in schools and especially for pre schoolers. Should we (adults) be less prescriptive to children of specific sports and be ultimately responsible for them loving and being physically active?

A ramble to begin the discussion around a framework of play/development for children and young people that helps adults (coaches and parents) understand the experiences that we present to children/young people and our role end responsibilities within those experiences.
