-For over two hours last night, thousands who turned out for a rally in the shadow of Surrey city hall heard from speaker after speaker, fed up with gang violence and demanding action from police and governments.

-More than 1000 people gathered outside city hall in Surrey last night to call for an end to gang violence, a week after the senseless murder of two teenage boys. 16-year-old Jason Jhutty and 17-year-old Jesse Bhangal were shot dead in Surrey last Monday.

-Nova Scotia RCMP are issuing a gentle reminder about proper 9-1-1 use after a 12-year-old called to express their dislike of salad. The Mounties say dispatchers received a call just before 10 p-m Tuesday from a youth who said their guardian made a salad they didn't like.

-Describing it as the ‘worst kept secret in town,’ BC NDP MLA Leonard Krog has officially launched his bid to become the next mayor of Nanaimo. Krog will be staying on as an MLA during the municipal election campaign and will only quit if he wins the mayor’s job.
