- New Democrats won’t have made as many personnel decisions that gave them as much pleasure as this one: fired Gordon Wilson without severance as $150k a year advocate (liason) between BC suppliers, LNG builders. Cabinet minister Bruce Ralston said he’d found no evidence – reports, briefing notes, stuff written on napkins – to indicate what Wilson had done after being paid $550K over four years.

- Site C review mandate expected from cabinet today. Six week review for preliminary opinion in early september.
Final review due late October.

- Tuesday at 5 pm, Hydro announces $1.2 billion takeover of 63-year old Waneta dam near Trail. Hydro already owned one third. Fortis had purchased remaining two thirds owned by Teck. But Hydro had rights of first refusal. Liberals looked at purchase and passed. NDP went for it.
