With just a month to go until the provincial election, the B.C. Liberals pledged that they’ll put a $500 cap on bridge tolls if re-elected.   In a statement, the Liberals say the toll cap would also apply to the Pattullo Bridge and George Massey Tunnel replacements once they’re running.  The Liberals say the toll cap would be applicable to personally registered vehicles that get a free TReO decal.

Hundreds of citizens from this French city have turned out in a heartfelt display of thanks to Canada and the thousands of Canadian soldiers who fought and died at nearby Vimy Ridge exactly a century ago.

Vimy was the most successful part of the Battle of Arras in April 1917, as the Canadians pushed up and captured the strategically-important ridge from the Germans.

Both parties are playing the "can you top this" game with bridge tolls.  The Vancouver Sun's Vaughn Palmer is here with his take on the day's headlines.

In the wake of a controversial Ombudsperson’s report into the firing of Health Ministry employees being released Thursday morning, the author is speaking out about his findings.

B.C. Ombudsperson Jay Chalke wrote the report, titled “Misfire”, which finds that the decision to fire eight researchers back in 2012 was made after a rushed and improper investigation.
