Last week, it looked like this first question period would be a raucous one potentially focusing on the "hacking" affair raging between the NDP and Premier Christy Clark. The recent hacking fiasco from Premier Christy Clark last week, which has been described as a botched attempt to deflect the issue of children dying in the government’s care, has again reared its head.

The sister of researcher Roderick MacIssac, who took his life after he was dragged into a Health Ministry privacy breach scandal, has accused Clark of continuing to make “false accusations about fictional data breaches.”

The provincial government’s Throne Speech kicks-off the last session of the legislature before the May 2017 election.  The speech, read by Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon, lays out the Liberals’ agenda and hints at what’s to come in next week’s provincial budget.  With a $2.25 billion surplus forecasted, the big news out of the Throne Speech is what’s coming back to the people of B.C.  Twice it’s mentioned the government is now in a position to pay back taxpayers in order to ease financial burdens and provide financial relief.
