The Ministry of Transportation says it could shut down the Alex Fraser Bridge if the snow storm creates dangerous driving conditions.

During Metro Vancouver’s first major snowfall of the year, at least 40 vehicles were damaged by falling snow and ice on the Alex Fraser and Port Mann bridges.

The union representing B.C. paramedics is reacting to a proposal by the City of Vancouver to increase property taxes by 0.5 per cent to help deal with the fentanyl crisis.  If approved, one proposed solution would be an additional Vancouver Fire and Rescue medic team in the downtown east side, comprised of a three person crew staffed 24/7.

The B.C. government is nearly doubling its advertising budget... right before the election!  The government says the ads are "public information" campaigns, not partisan attempts to to make the Liberals look great to woo voters.  The Province newspaper's Michael Smyth is here with his take on the day's headlines.

Are public sector employees overpaid? That’s the suggestion of a new Fraser Institute study, which finds compensation for government workers far outpaced that of their private sector counterparts last year.  The study says government workers at all levels are pulling in about 11 per cent more than private sector workers in similar jobs.
