Tim is joined by two highly accomplished radio hosts, Lucy Holmes from 89.9 The Light, and Mary 'MK' Argall from Praise 106.5 in Seattle. In a wide-ranging discussion Lucy and MK cover everything from what it means to 'love' their audience through the deeper challenges of life to their strangest meals. They also talk justice, and what that means as part of the first world, and how the concept of 'radical equality' has shaped their thinking.

A native of the United Kingdom, now teaching at Calvin University, Grand Rapids, Professor David Smith has an international reputation as a thinker and practitioner at the place where faith and teaching meet.  He quotes the 17th century educator Comenius, who believed that education is for all, regardless of age, class, sex, and nationality, as seeming “more 1960s than 1660s,” and has a great answer to the problem of teaching sporting skills in a Christian way “without doing something rather stupid.”

Joel Westa is a committed follower of Jesus who's flown B52 bombers in action, learning how to apply his faith to deep questions in the process. He loves hunting in the Canadian wilderness and is now CEO of Christian Schools International, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this episode he and Tim discuss the vital function of Christian education in the world today.

Mark Purser is an ordained Baptist pastor who is manager of church relations for Baptist World Aid throughout Victoria and Tasmania. His key concern is inspiring Christ's followers to respond to world poverty min a way which truly reflects their faith.

He also loves football! He served as chaplain to Adelaide Crows for five years, during which the Club faced perhaps their most difficult times, and is now chaplain to Essendon Bombers.

Tony Rinaudo, member of the Order of Australia and recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the “Alternative Nobel Prize”, has pioneered a work which has seen millions of hectares of African desert reforested. The results are so significant that it can be seen from space.

Growing up in country Victoria, Tony has always loved the natural world, and might well have ended up as a farmer if God had not directed him to Niger, mission, and into a work which has transformed the face of a continent.

Jason Smith is an Olympian and NBL veteran, and former Captain of the Australian men's basketball team. Recruited as a teen to Cal Lutheran College in the US, Smith went on to captain the Boomers at the Sydney Olympics.

He joins Tim to reflect on his career, and particularly to share his experiences of journeying in faith whilst also becoming an elite athlete.

Sarah Elliott joins us to share the highs and lows of her cricketing career - from her maiden test century against England to being the 'most capped drinks carrier'. Tim and Sarah discuss what it means to be a committed Christian in professional sport, and how Sarah's own faith has played itself out in that setting.

In 1994 Frida Umuhoza survived the genocide of Tutsi people in Rwanda. Frida's story is a confronting one, persecuted from childhood for her ethnicity, the traumatic loss of her entire family, and then living alongside her persecutors in the aftermath of the nationwide genocide. Frida shares her experiences with us, including how she found freedom from her past when she gave her life to Christ.

Frida is the author of Chosen to Die, Destined to Live and In The School of Resilience. She has spoken of her experiences around the world, including to the U.N.

Tony Sinn is an officer with the Australian Federal Police and has spent almost two-and-a-half decades policing. In that time he has encountered many challenging circumstances, including a maritime disaster off the coast of Indonesia in which many refugees lost their lives.

Tony shares with us the impact that responding to that had on his view of asylum seekers, the effect policing has had on his family life, and discovering the human story behind criminal offences.
